About the Highland House Inn |
|
Eleven miles from the historic gold rush town of Mariposa, in the lower elevations of the mighty Sierra Nevada mountains, lies the Highland House Inn. The home sits on a secluded, ten acre plot of land heavily wooded with Cedar, Ponderosa Pine and Black Oak and backing onto the Sierra National Forest. A High Country Cottage Built in the 1980's, the architect's commission was to design a home with the character of a country cottage naturally set in the forest. You can see this in the roof lines, the brick chimney and the multi-paned windows, each of which opens to a view of the meadow and forest. Inside the architectural theme continues, yet all the modern amenties are present.
